Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said the state could not invest in infrastructure projects due to lack of resources.

In a discussion on the bill held at the Finance Committee today, the Finance Minister said that the state was trying to bring an alternative finance law as it did not have the resources to invest in infrastructure.

According to him, this law will be important for project selection, raising resources from outside the Treasury and implementing it. He said that this law will be important to raise investment from the private sector in the scheme of giving returns.

Finance Minister Poudel said, “At present, the state is not in a position to invest in infrastructure. We faced a lot of pressure from resources, so this bill has been brought to raise resources from outside the Treasury in the project that gives results. Mobilizing investment in infrastructure through alternative sources will help in moving big projects forward. ’

After the enactment of the alternative finance law, the problem of building infrastructure due to lack of resources will be solved. He said that such resources could be mobilized in the field of mining studies, fertilizer factory, IT, etc.
