Kathmandu. Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Visa, the world’s leading digital payment service provider.
Under this agreement, various programs and activities will be conducted to raise awareness and capacity building related to cyber security within the financial sector of Nepal.
NBA and Visa, long-time partners in promoting digital payments in Nepal, are collaborating this time strategically by prioritizing cyber security. Under the joint initiative, there is a plan to conduct activities at the provincial level and organize special interaction sessions with the stakeholders.
Mainly, under this partnership, cyber security related programs will be conducted in all the provinces of Nepal. In order to support the provincial activities, a comprehensive program will also be organized with the participation of stakeholders of various bodies and representatives of regulatory bodies. Apart from this, there will also be a special interaction session between visa representatives and bank officials.
The NBA and Visa believe that this strategic partnership will provide an opportunity to further strengthen the payment system in Nepal, raise cyber security awareness, enhance capabilities and learn from international experience.
