Kathmandu. Most of the commercial banks are able to pay dividends to shareholders from the profits of the last financial year.
Of the 20 commercial banks in operation, banks other than four can pay dividend to shareholders. The bank has the capacity to pay dividend of 1.44 to 38.27 percent from the profit of the last fiscal year.
Everest Bank has the highest dividend paying capacity at 38.27 per cent. Similarly, Nepal Investment Mega Bank has the lowest dividend paying capacity at 1.44 percent. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the bank’s ability to pay dividends was negative.
Nepal, Kumari, Himalayan and NIC Asia Bank will not pay dividend to shareholders from the distributable profit of the last fiscal year.
