Government earns Rs 85 billion, spends Rs 46 billion in one month of current fiscal year

Kathmandu. In the first month of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS, the government earned Rs 85.19 billion and spent Rs 46.30 billion.

According to the data of the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, 5.56 percent of the annual target and 2.36 percent of the expenditure was spent in the first month of the current fiscal year.

The government has set a revenue target of Rs 1,533.44 billion in the current fiscal year. According to the data, more than Rs 80.67 billion or 6.09 per cent of the annual target has been collected from tax revenue and Rs 3.79 billion or 2.46 per cent of the annual target from non-tax revenue till mid-July.

Similarly, Rs 421.9 million from foreign grants and Rs 308.9 million from other receipts have been deposited in the government account. The government aims to collect Rs 1,325.58 billion in tax revenue, Rs 154.41 billion in non-tax revenue and Rs 53.44 billion in foreign grants this year.

A budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion has been presented for the current fiscal year, of which Rs 46.30 billion has been spent till mid-July. Of the rs 1,180.98 billion allocated for the current fiscal year, 1.56 per cent or Rs 18.47 billion has been spent so far, according to the Auditor General.

Similarly, out of rs 407.88 billion allocated for capital, only 0.18 per cent or Rs 726.3 million has been spent. In the first month, the highest expenditure has been on the head of financial arrangements. Of the rs 375.24 billion allocated for the current fiscal year, 7.22 per cent or Rs 27.10 billion has been spent till mid-July.
