Kathmandu. Kathmandu: A flag hoisting ceremony was held in Kathmandu on Sunday to mark the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
The flag hoisting ceremony took place amidst a special ceremony held at the IME Complex complex premises, the office of the Honorary Consul general of the Republic of Indonesia to Nepal.
On the occasion of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, Honorary Consul of Indonesia to Nepal Chandra Prasad Dhakal said nepal and the Republic of Indonesia enjoy good relations and he was making efforts to take it to the people’s level in the days to come.
He stressed the need to further deepen and strengthen this relationship in the days to come as there is immense potential for the people and governments of the two countries to benefit from mutual trade and exchange of experience between the two countries.
Nepal and The Republic of Indonesia established diplomatic relations in 1960. Indonesia’s Ambassador to Nepal has a residential office in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Indonesia is one of the largest economies in the world. The volume of trade between Nepal and Indonesia is also huge. There is a lot of potential between the two countries in the field of import and export trade including tourism.
