Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today briefed about the timely expansion of the Digital Nepal Framework-2076 BS and the progress of nepal telecom’s work.
Prime Minister Oli, who has been stressing the need to accelerate the pace of good governance, development and prosperity using communication and information technology, took the briefing from Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, Secretary Radhika Aryal, Acting Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Sabina Maskey Pradhan among others.
In the context of the recent approval of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy, 2082 by the Government of Nepal, the Prime Minister has been informed that the Ministry has started homework for further expansion and timely revision of the Digital Nepal Framework.
The proposed Digital Nepal Framework has been prepared in 2.0 (FAST) format. The proposal incorporates the concept of infrastructure, access, capacity building and transformation of the digital ecosystem.
Agriculture, education, health, education, tourism, finance, good governance, as well as social security, disaster and climate change have been included in the proposed new framework. A Digital Transformation Council has been proposed under the chairmanship of The Minister for Communications for determining the priorities of Digital Nepal during its implementation, monitoring and reporting. The new framework will come into effect after the approval of the Council of Ministers.
The Digital Nepal Framework- 2076 BS was approved during prime minister Oli’s tenure with vision of Digital Nepal for good governance, development and prosperity.
