Darchula. At least 11 people have been injured in a jeep accident in Darchula. The jeep (SUPPR 04001 Ja 0103) en route to Hoprigad from Hopri of Naugad rural municipality met with an accident this morning.

Information Officer at the District Police Office and Police Inspector Chhatra Bahadur Rawat said that the condition of four of the 11 injured is critical. The injured were rescued and taken to Gokuleshwar Hospital for treatment, he said. The injured have been identified as Parbati Tamta, 25, Mohan Thagunna, 26, Apsara Mahata, 18, and Umesh Thagunna, 35.

Police Inspector Rawat said that the accident was suspected to have occurred after the jeep with 11 people on board did not brake on the slippery road. According to him, jeep driver Lokendra Singh Thagunna, who was injured in the accident, has been taken into custody and necessary investigation is underway.
