Board is promoting tourism by giving priority to research: CEO Joshi

Kathmandu. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Deepak Raj Joshi has said that tourism promotion programmes are being carried out keeping research in priority for tourism promotion.

“The Board has focused on making Nepal’s tourism sector sustainable and competitive only through facts and research-based policies,” he said. Stating that Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is an organization based on public-private partnership model, CEO Joshi said that for the last 27 years, nepal has been working with the objective of establishing Nepal as a major tourist destination of world class.

“The Board has been promoting Nepal’s tourism in the international market by adopting strategies such as ‘Resilience Building’, ‘Revival’ and ‘Aggressive Marketing’ in the past,” he said. ’

Ceo Joshi said that the board will put forward its upcoming plans by making research a central basis to make Nepal a ‘Premier Visiting Destination’. He said that fact-based planning is essential for long-term competition in the tourism market. Ceo Joshi also said that Dr Awale’s research will be kept as an asset and a study will be conducted to formulate a strategy.

Dr. Awale presented detailed data on Nepal’s tourism arrivals, spending patterns, destination choices and policy weaknesses.
