Agreement between India and China on Lipulek not acceptable: Lawmakers

Kathmandu. Lawmakers have said that the agreement reached between India and China in the House of Representatives to make Nepal’s Lipulekh area a trade route is not acceptable at any cost.

Most of the lawmakers who participated in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives requested the government for strong diplomatic initiatives to bring back Nepal’s land. Tara Lama, a member of the House of Representatives, said the issue of India and China doing business through Nepal’s lipulekh was not acceptable to Nepal at any cost.

“Lipulek is an integral part of Nepal. Through the Speaker, I request the government to take strong diplomatic initiatives for the return of that land. ’

Lawmaker Durga Rai said that the agreement between India and China to use Nepal’s Lipulek would not be acceptable in a way that would harm Nepal’s independence, territorial integrity and self-respect.

“Let us once again forge a national consensus between the ruling party and the opposition on the issue,” he said. Although small in geography, Nepal is sovereign, India’s claim on Lipulekh is not based on truth and evidence, unilateral artificial claims are not acceptable to Nepal, diplomatic initiatives should not be delayed in this regard. ’

Narayani Sharma said that lipulek, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura are an integral part of Nepal and the agreement reached between India and China for the operation of trade routes between the two countries cannot be accepted without any discussion with Nepal. He urged all political parties to take initiative to resolve the problems under the leadership of the Prime Minister by making the same resolve.

Lawmaker Nainkala Thapa said that the agreement reached between India and China on lipulek has worried the sovereign and independent Nepalis. He said that China and India have shown a tendency to hate Nepal, so that thinking needs to be corrected immediately.

Lawmaker Prabhu Hazara said that although Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani are Nepali territories, the decision of Nepal and India to build trade points in those areas without any consultation with Nepal is invalid for Nepalis.
