Bhadrapur. The export of cardamom from mechi customs office has increased by 99.50 percent in the first month of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS. According to the office data, cardamom worth Rs 321.76 million was exported in the month of July.
Information Officer at mechi customs office, Ishwor Kumar Humagain, said 216.15 metric tonnes of cardamom were exported in the last one month. He said cardamom worth Rs 161.25 million was exported in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
According to the office data, tea exports have decreased by 26.80 percent in the current fiscal year. Tea worth Rs 374.82 million was exported during the period.
According to Information Officer Humagain, tea worth Rs 512.278 million was exported in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Among the major export items, veneer seats increased by 30.40 per cent, chhurpi by 92 per cent, other metal residues by 100 per cent, cowpeas, broccoli and cabbage by 89 per cent.
Similarly, plywood decreased by 54.10 per cent, ginger by 57.40 per cent and amriso by 0.60 per cent. Goods worth Rs 3.69 billion were exported from Mechi Customs in the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
