Kathmandu. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that all Nepalis are being included in the social security fund.

Responding to an oral question regarding the ministry in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he said necessary arrangements were being made to take everyone to the fund for social security.

Minister Bhandari informed that so far 1.835 million people have joined the fund. He said that all Nepalis and all workers in the informal sector are being taken to the fund and everyone’s cooperation is needed in this regard.

Minister Bhandari informed that the government has fixed the minimum wage for Nepali workers going to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by signing an agreement and a bilateral agreement is also being signed with Saudi Arabia.

“The government is going to focus on sending skilled or semi-skilled workers and how much maximum wages can be paid instead of the minimum,” he said, adding that the labour and employment sector would be digitized and an AI chatboard would also be launched. ’

Lawmaker Purna Bahadur Gharti had questioned Minister Bhandari about the lack of employment at the local level, involvement in social funds and programmes to involve others.
