Darchula. The Mahakali Highway has been blocked due to landslides. The highway has been obstructed due to landslide at Terchhalek Ranebas area of Khalanga-Gokuleshwor road section, the district headquarters of Darchula. A Bolero jeep was also damaged in the landslide.

The jeep (Suspra 001 Ja 1184) en route to Gokuleshwor from khalanga, the district headquarters, was caught in the landslide. Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Chhatra Bahadur Rawat, said that the front part of the jeep was completely buried after the landslide. According to him, there was no loss of life in the jeep buried in the landslide. Rawat said it was difficult to evacuate the jeep as the falling of stones did not stop with the rain. The roads department’s equipment is close to the landslide. Buses coming from Kathmandu and Mahendranagar have been stopped at Panewaj as the rain has not stopped.

Vehicles coming from Khalanga, the district headquarters, have also been stopped on the way. The road in the area is blocked from time to time. Due to this, passengers have been forced to suffer.
