Spain. Former Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Kulman Ghising, who is on a visit to Europe, has stressed the need for a comprehensive change in policy and leadership to build a prosperous Nepal.

Addressing a meeting and interaction jointly organised by The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Costavanka and Nepal Samaj Association Costavanka, Ghising stressed the need for the right political leadership for the overall transformation of Nepal.

“There is a need for a comprehensive change in the policy and leadership to bring economic change in the country as soon as possible and also to bring back the Nepalis who have gone abroad,” he said. But the light of lights is not enough, he said, adding that the campaign has been started so that every area of the country should be illuminated.

“When I came to NEA, our total electricity generation was 800 MW, now it is going to reach around 4,000 MW. Five times more is being produced. Thousands of other megawatts of projects are under construction. 25 billion now

We are collecting rs 100 annually. We have made the authority financially strong. This would have been possible had it not been for the support of the general public,” Ghising said.

“It is dark in every part of the country now. I have moved ahead with the determination to remove darkness, to raise hope and to spread light on the face of every Nepali. I have come to Spain through the Gulf countries, the US, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Malta. I got an opportunity to learn a lot from this visit,” he said.

In his meeting, all the Nepalis living abroad expressed concern and concern about how nepal can prosper as soon as possible, what can we do and how the investment environment in Nepal will be better.

“Friends are doing very good business and work during migration. This is a great asset for Nepal. Five million Nepalis have gained experience and expertise in living abroad. All this expertise should be linked to Nepal’s development and transformation,” he said.

He also stressed the need for full implementation of non-resident Nepali (NRNA) citizenship by bringing necessary laws soon. He also urged all to join the campaign to build a brighter Nepal.
