Kathmandu. In the last fiscal year 2081÷82, the price rise (annual average consumer inflation) was 4.06 percent. Price rise has decreased by 1.38 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, inflation was 5.44 percent.

The annual consumer inflation stood at 2.20 per cent in July 2018. Such inflation was 3.57 percent in June 2018. In the fiscal year 2081÷82, the price of vegetables sub-group under food and beverages group was 10.71 percent, ghee and oil 8.72 percent, pulses and legumes 7.90 percent and food and food products 6.13 percent.

Similarly, the price index of marmasala sub-group declined by 2.62 per cent and fish and meat by 0.34 per cent. Under the non-food and services group, the price of miscellaneous goods and services sub-group was 9.39 percent, clothing and footwear 6.09 percent, alcoholic beverages 5.65 percent, furnishing and household appliances 4.78 percent and tobacco products 4.37 percent.

The annual average consumer inflation of food and beverages group stood at 4.69 per cent in the fiscal year 2081÷82. In the previous fiscal year, inflation was 6.47 percent. The annual point-to-point consumer inflation of food and beverages group was negative by 1.19 percent in the month of June of the last fiscal year. Inflation in the group stood at 4.04 per cent in June 2018.

The annual average consumer inflation of non-food and services group stood at 3.71 per cent in the fiscal year 2081÷82. In the previous fiscal year, inflation was 4.64 percent. The annual point-to-point consumer inflation of non-food and services group stood at 4.12 per cent in June 2018. Inflation in the group stood at 3.26 per cent in June 2018.

In the fiscal year 2081÷82, the annual average consumer inflation of Kathmandu Valley was 3.77 percent, 4.14 percent of tarai, 3.86 percent of hills and 4.89 percent of mountains. The annual point-wise consumer inflation in The Kathmandu Valley was 2.32 per cent, 1.85 per cent in the Terai, 2.19 per cent in the hills and 3.75 per cent in the Himalayas in the month of July 2018. Similarly, the annual point-wise consumer price index of rural areas increased by 2.40 percent and urban areas by 2.14 percent in the month of June 2018. In the fiscal year 2081÷82, the annual average consumer inflation of Koshi Province was 5.46 percent, Madhes Province 4.14 percent, Bagmati Province 3.57 percent, Gandaki Province 3.32 percent, Lumbini Province 3.70 percent, Karnali Province 3.31 percent and Sudurpaschim Province 5.02 percent.

Similarly, consumer inflation in Koshi Province is 3.67 percent, Madhes Province 1.99 percent, Bagmati Province 1.81 percent, Gandaki Province 1.71 percent, Lumbini Province 1.78 percent, Karnali Province 1.86 percent and Sudurpaschim Province 2.74 percent.
