Stock market plunges 18 points, turnover above Rs 6.5 billion

Kathmandu. On the first trading day of the week, the stock market fell by double digits on Sunday. On Sunday, the NEPSE index fell by 18.02 points to 2739.95 points. On Sunday, the stock market rose 0.65 percent. At the same time, the sensitive index has decreased by 3.06 points today. On the other hand, the float index fell 1.38 points and the sensitive float index fell 1.18 points.

Although the stock market has decreased today, the transaction amount has increased compared to Thursday. Shares worth Rs 6.54 billion were traded in the market on Sunday, up from Rs 5.02 billion on Thursday.

Out of the 13 sub-groups traded on Sunday, the index of one sub-group has increased. The index of the remaining 12 sub-groups has decreased. The index of production and processing sub-group has increased by 0.15 percent on this day. The index of development bank sub-group has decreased the most by 1.69 percent. Today, the index of hydropower sub-group has decreased by more than 1 percent.

Shares of Bikas Hydropower were traded at a positive circuit level today. Today, the share price of the company has increased by Rs 35.30 to Rs 388.70. Similarly, the share price of CYC Nepal Laghubitta Financial Institution has increased by more than 4.5 percent today. Shares of Narayani Development Bank fell the most by 7.29 per cent during the day.

Himalayan Distillery has the highest number of shares traded in terms of transaction amount today. Shares worth Rs 1.75 billion of the company were traded on this day. Shares worth Rs 245 million of Nepal Reinsurance Company were traded today.
