Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that The Hartalika and Teej have linked the cultural identity of the Nepali society.
Speaking at a ‘Cultural and Rate Eating Programme’ organised by The Nepal Students’ Association Pashupati Campus Unit Committee on the occasion of The Haritalika Festival here today, he said the responsibility of preserving the originality and cultural existence of the Nepali society was on the shoulders of all.
He said teej should not be considered as a festival of cable women but as a means of connecting the society with discipline, dignity and faith. “The way a metal takes shape according to the frame found when it is in a liquid state, the future is built in the same way as the students prepare themselves today, so it is your responsibility to become a worthy citizen by protecting religion, culture and society.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Yogmaya Ayurved University, Dr Ramesh Dhungel said that cultural festivals like Teej would play an important role in making Nepal known on the world stage. “Our festivals not only sustain the national identity but also provide an opportunity to highlight the diverse culture at the international level,” he said.
Pashupati Campus Campus Chief Binod Panta urged the students to move ahead with cultural awareness, discipline and knowledge. Saroj Limbu, president of the Navy Unit Committee, said that Teej is expanding as a common festival among all castes and languages.
