Energy Minister Khadka meets Korean ambassador to Nepal to discuss Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project and transmission line

Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka and South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae-yong paid a courtesy call on him.

During the meeting, special discussions were held on the preparations for the Global Infrastructure Corporation Conference-2025 to be held on September 16-18.

Ambassador Yong said that 35 countries have so far ensured their participation in the event and expressed the belief that it could be used as an important opportunity to present Nepal’s energy projects to the international community.

On the occasion, a detailed discussion was also held about various projects being carried out in Nepal with Korean assistance, including Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project and Transmission Line Project.

Minister Khadka expressed gratitude for the Korean cooperation and investment in Nepal and pledged to continue the cooperation in transmission line and other energy infrastructure projects in a positive mode.

He expressed the belief that more Korean investment would be attracted in Nepal’s energy, water resources and irrigation sectors. Both sides expressed the belief that the GICC-2025 could highlight nepal’s hydropower potential and investment opportunities and take bilateral energy cooperation to a new height.
