Kathmandu. The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has signed a performance agreement for the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
Minister Deepak Khadka and three secretaries of the ministry signed an agreement on Wednesday.
Energy Secretary Suresh Acharya, Water Resources and Irrigation Secretary Sarita Dawadi and Water and Energy Commission Secretariat Secretary Dinanath Mishra were present on the occasion. On the occasion, Minister Khadka expressed the belief that this time more achievements would be achieved than mentioned in the agreement based on the experience of the previous year.
“Projects that have ensured budget and resources should be taken forward without delay. The time has come for the secretary and project chief to play a more active role,” said Minister Khadka. He also proposed to make arrangements for regular reporting through online system and to evaluate the progress every week.
Pointing out the need to strengthen the inter-ministerial and departmental coordination within the ministry, Minister Khadka directed to be committed to complete the works on time. “It is up to all of us to build the country. Results should be achieved by making full use of the potential,” he said.
Earlier, Energy Minister Khadka had signed a performance agreement with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on August 29. Irrigation Secretary Sarita Dawadi said that the evaluation would be committed and the direct results of the work should be seen.
He expressed his determination to achieve 100 percent progress. Similarly, Secretary Dinanath Mishra stressed the need for all parties to work unitedly to fulfill the objectives of the organization by implementing the goals mentioned in the agreement. On the occasion, chiefs of various divisions and director generals of departments of the ministry also signed performance agreements related to their respective sectors.
