Jhapa. In the first month of the current fiscal year, petroleum products worth Rs 1.50 billion were imported from Kakarvitta.
According to Ishwor Kumar Humagain, information officer at mechi customs office, the import of petroleum products has increased by Rs 52.2 million or 3.60 percent compared to the same period of fiscal year 2081÷82 BS. With the slight increase in imports, the revenue from petroleum products has also increased by 11.80 percent or Rs 79.15 million, he said.
Revenue of Rs 748.33 million has been collected from import of petroleum products. During the same period, 8,904 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 773 million and 4,676 kilolitres of diesel worth Rs 441.1 million were imported.
Similarly, 1,933 metric tonnes of LPG worth Rs 203 million, 792 kilolitres of ATF worth Rs 70.3 million and 128 kilolitres of kerosene worth Rs 11.3 million were imported.
