Kathmandu. Monsoon has become more active in Nepal in the last few days. Surkhet has received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the Khanikhola Rain Gauge Centre in Surkhet received the highest rainfall of 292.3 mm.
Senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department, Pratibha Manandhar, said that due to the active low pressure system, there has been fragmented rainfall in certain centers of the western region.
According to the Department, Panchase of Parbat has also received 179.3 mm rainfall. This is a very heavy rainfall measure. Similarly, Banke also received 146.3 mm rainfall.
Similarly, Dang received 138 mm rainfall, Darchula 107 mm, Sindhupalchowk 105 mm and more than 12 stations received between 80 mm and 100 mm rainfall. According to the department records, rainfall ranged between 50 and 80 mm at many measurement centres. Meteorologist Manandhar said that the rainfall will be slightly more in the afternoon and evening today and it will be slightly less tomorrow.
According to the Department, rainfall occurred in the western region due to the local system and the system coming from the Bay of Bengal in the east.
Today, the monsoon is more affected in Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and the weather will be cloudy throughout the country. At present, the low pressure line of monsoon is located in the south of the average place in the east and around the average place in the west.
It is generally cloudy throughout the country at present. Light to moderate rainfall is taking place at a few places of The Tarai, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province and Sudur Pashchim Province and at a few places of the rest of the provinces.
