3,281 disaster cases since April

Kathmandu. A total of 3,281 disasters have been reported across the country between April and August 15. A total of 207 people have died in these incidents.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 22 people have gone missing and 774 others have been injured in the disaster. A total of 5,963 families have been affected.

According to the NRA, the highest number of fires have occurred in the disaster incidents that occurred during this period. A total of 1,197 fire incidents have been reported. At least 15 people were killed and 165 others injured in the fire.

As many as 27 people have lost their lives, 22 are missing and 10 have been injured in 243 flood incidents. A total of 1,778 families have been affected by the floods. Landslides occurred at 368 places during the period. At least 18 people were killed and 28 others injured in the landslide. As many as 481 families have been affected by the landslide.

Similarly, the NRA has provided details of 266 heavy rainfall. Six people were killed and 12 injured and seven and 11 families were affected due to heavy rains. A total of 258 lightning strikes have killed 31 people. A total of 193 people were injured and 317 families were affected.

Similarly, 72 people have died in 268 incidents of snakebite. As many as 272 families have been affected due to injuries to 202 people. A total of 158 forest fires have affected two people and affected 27 families. Eight people were killed and 41 others injured in 280 incidents. A total of 536 households have been affected.

According to the NRA, 15 people have died in animal attacks. A total of 49 incidents of lake collapse, five of earthquake, two of boat capsize, and one each of hailstorm and epidemic have been reported. The NRA has urged to take necessary precautions and precautions to deal with the disaster and has also made necessary preparations.
