Kapilvastu. Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has said that urea fertilizer would be easily available from India within 10 days.
Speaking at a programme organised in Chandrauta today, he said the fertilizers imported from Kolkata would arrive within 10 days and the farmers would get it easily. He assured the farmers that there would be no shortage of fertilizers now.
Minister Adhikari said fertilizer should be distributed on the basis of agricultural land and production in the district. “Priority should be given to genuine farmers while distributing fertilizers and we are sensitive so that farmers cultivating large areas do not have to suffer financial losses due to lack of fertilizers,” he said.
Nepali Congress district president and Mayor of Maharajgunj Municipality Abdul Kalam stressed the need to make the government fertilizer distribution system effective.
Similarly, district vice-president of the same party, Umakanta Khanal, suggested to work on a plan to provide fertilizers, seeds and other materials to the farmers before the rainy season from next year.
