Kathmandu. At present, the monsoon trough is located around the southern part of the country.

According to the Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the flow of water vapour-rich air from the Arabian Sea has increased slightly. According to the Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and SudurPaschim provinces and at a few places of hilly and Tarai regions of other provinces. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places of Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces.

Similarly, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudur Pashchim provinces and at a few places of the hilly and tarai regions of other provinces. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of gandaki and sudur paschim provinces.

The Division has urged all to remain alert and make preparations, predicting that there is a risk of landslides and debris flow of rain, the water level in big and small rivers and rivulets may rise and the transport sector may be affected.
