Cairo. Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed between Chinese technology company Huawei and EgyptAir, the national carrier of Egypt, which are expected to expand business in Egypt and support the country’s economic and digital development.

According to a joint statement issued on Saturday, the agreement has made EgyptAir an official airline for Huawei employees and opens the door for cooperation between the two companies on Egypt’s digital transformation.

Ahmed Adel, president of EgyptAir, said the partnership will help the company adopt new technologies, improve the system and ease passenger experience. The agreement will also help the company expand in the international market and improve digital services, he added.

Huawei Global Business Travel Vice President Lang Chao said connecting Chinese companies with EgyptAir’s network will make business travel easier, strengthen economic cooperation and increase cultural exchanges.

Huawei Egypt’s senior vice president Do Yong said the company’s digital solutions would help EgyptAir survive global competition and modernize its operating system.

The partnership is part of Huawei’s long-term plan to invest in Egypt’s digital infrastructure, which is expected to contribute to the country’s overall economic growth.
