Mustang. A total of 116,787 foreign tourists entered the district in the last eight months of 2025. According to The Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Area Conservation Office (ACAP), Jomsom, 101,161 foreign tourists from SAARC countries and 15,626 foreign tourists from other countries entered Mustang from January to August 2025.
Of the total number of foreign tourists, 86.62 per cent are from SAARC countries and 13.37 per cent from other countries, according to ACAP office chief Rajesh Gupta.
In January 2025, 4,346 people including 3,830 from SAARC and 516 from other countries, 5,303 including 4,510 from SAARC and 793 others in February, 19,095 including 16,507 from SAARC and 2,588 from others in March, 18,304 from SAARC in April and 4,848 from others. A total of 25,727 foreign tourists including 21,946 from SAARC and 3,781 others entered Mustang in May, 20,858 including 19,649 from SAARC and 1,209 others in June, 10,619 including 9,794 from SAARC and 825 others in July and 6,621 from SAARC and 1,066 from others in August.
The number of foreign tourists has increased by 21.98 percent in 2025 compared to the same period of 2024. A total of 25,678 foreign tourists have arrived this year, said Office Chief Gupta. In the same period of 2024, 78,760 foreign tourists from SAARC countries and 12,349 from other countries visited nepal.
Compared to the same period last year, there has been an increase of 22,401 or 922.140 percent in SAARC countries and 3,277 or 20.97 percent in other foreign tourists.
A total of 125,719 foreign tourists visited Mustang between January and December 2024. Of them, 101,161 were from SAARC and 15,626 from other countries.
According to the office data, 80 percent of the foreign tourists visiting Mustang are Indian tourists. It is said that most of the Indian tourists coming here visit muktinath temple and return.
Mustang: The number of domestic and foreign tourists in Mustang has been increasing every year as the beni-Jomsom road of national pride has become easier in recent times. Experts say that the number of foreign tourists has increased unexpectedly after the international media listed Mustang in the list of visits.
The district has become a center of tourist attraction due to its distinct geography along with religious, cultural and biological diversity. The number of domestic and foreign tourists has been increasing here due to centuries-old monasteries, mane, chorten, caves, structures of traditional cultural houses, Taltalaiya, Lomanthang historical palace, Korala checkpoint and other tourist destinations.
