Kathmandu. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp’s parent company Meta has come in contact with the government.

Meta came in contact with the government after the government decided to shut down social media.

Meta’s Singapore office has sought details to be registered with the Ministry of Communications, spokesperson Gajendra Prasad Thakur said.

It is said that after asking for details, the details of registration were sent through email.

The Ministry today directed the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) to deactivate 26 different social networks.
