Unregistered social networks no longer functioning: Ncell

Kathmandu. Ncell has informed that its mobile data will not be used on social networks banned by the government.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, Ncell informed that the social networks banned by the government as per the directives of The Nepal Telecommunication Authority will not run on mobile data.

Ncell has said that as per the order of the Honorable Supreme Court, the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on September 9, 2082, the decision of the Cabinet meeting of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on September 19, 2082, and the Directive to this company to deactivate the unregistered social networking platforms in Nepal, 2080, we would like to inform in advance that ncell’s internet service will not run unregistered social networking platforms in Nepal. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this. However, other registered social media platforms, including TikTok and Viber, can be used through Ncell’s data service.
