Gautam and Sharma of Baglung set up soap industry with an investment of Rs 10 million

Baglung. A soap industry has come into operation in Baglung with an investment of Rs 10 million. Tirtha Gautam and Tara Sharma of Kathekhola Rural Municipality-7 have been producing Kalika Sabun for the last two years. Both of them are post-graduates. You have not found anyone who advises them to go abroad when their contemporary friends leave.

Family members also said that there was no alternative to going abroad. However, Tirtha and Tara dreamed of becoming entrepreneurs in Nepal, not opting for foreign countries. At present, they are raising their industry with their two-year-old son. At present, six people have got employment in the industries of Tirtha and Tara, which have created self-employment in the country. Tirtha and Tara have been manufacturing utensils and laundry soaps from the T&T Manufacturing Industry located near Hallanchowk of Baglung Bazaar and selling them in galkot, Burtibang, Kushmisera, Bareng and myagdi and Parbat districts of Baglung.

Tirtha and Tara, who registered their industries in 2078 BS at the Tourism and Industry Office and Baglung Municipality, have started producing and selling soaps since 2080 BS. More than Rs 10 million has been invested in the industry which started with an investment of Rs 5 million. Tara said that the target is to produce Sarf, Harpic and Kulin in the near future.

He said, “There is a wave of going abroad now, but we thought that we should do this and start the soap industry, we believe that new work should be started on our own. ’

Tirtha said most of the raw materials for soap production would be procured from India and some from Kathmandu. According to him, they have an annual turnover of Rs 5 million. Kalika soap of 200 grams is being sold for Rs 50, he said. He said that attention is paid not only to the production but also to the quality of soap produced.
