Taplejung. The landslide buried the house of Lakpa Khangdu Sherpa aka Chepte Sherpa at Maiwakhola rural municipality-6, Chyandanda in the district. According to Bijaya Prakash Banem, chairperson of the rural municipality, Sherpa’s three grandchildren have been found in the house. One of the three injured and Lakpa Khangdu Sherpa are still missing.

The landslide occurred this morning due to incessant rain. The rural municipality has urged the locals to stay alert. Banem said efforts are underway to take stock of the situation in the area and carry out rescue operations.
