Let’s maintain national unity and social harmony: Nepal Army

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) has expressed confidence that every citizen would continue their responsibilities to normalize the life of the country by maintaining national unity and social harmony.

The NA’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, through a press release today, urged the security personnel to be committed to the security and rescue of all Nepalis at all costs.

The prohibitory order currently in force in view of the overall peace and security situation of the country will remain in force throughout the country till 5:00 pm today. The prohibitory order will remain in force till 6:00 am on September 10.

The prohibitory order has been continued as anarchic individuals and groups are still infiltrating and vandalizing personal and public property, arson, looting and violent attacks against people, attempting to rape people.

Ambulances, mortuary vehicles, fire trucks, health workers and security personnel vehicles will be allowed to ply during the prohibitory order. The NA has requested to coordinate with the nearby security personnel for the necessary facilitation.

The NA has warned that any demonstration, vandalism, looting, arson, attacks targeting people and property in the name of agitation will be taken as punishable offences and stern action will be taken by the security forces as they are coordinating among the concerned parties to resolve the problem by addressing the situation after the agitation.

The NC has also urged the security personnel including retired army personnel, civil servants, media persons and the general public not to follow rumour, disseminate only authentic information and believe only in authentic information.
