Kathmandu. The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been operating flights regularly.

General Manager Hansraj Pandey said the flights have been operating since Wednesday evening. “Domestic and international flights are operating normally as in the past. Coordination has been made with the security bodies to ease the movement of passengers,” he said.

According to the airport, there is no situation to add more flights than the current flight schedule and the flights will be regularized in the previous capacity.

As prohibitory order continues in the Kathmandu Valley, the movement of air passengers has been facilitated on the basis of identity documents. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has stated that foreign tourists will be taken to their destinations by arranging shuttle buses. Meanwhile, the airline company has also been taking its passengers to their destinations by making various arrangements.

According to Buddha Air’s information officer Dipendra Kumar Karna, the flights have been operating regularly since this morning. Those passengers who have been stranded for two or three days in Kathmandu and outside will have to be taken to foreign destinations.

The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) was closed on September 10 despite the adverse situation caused by the ‘Genji generation’. As per the decision of the airport security committee, it was decided to resume flights from 3:30 pm on Wednesday. Both domestic and international flights have been operating since Wednesday evening.

The airport has requested the passengers coming to the airport to contact their respective airlines and get information about the flight timings. They have also been asked to bring an official air ticket and identity documents while traveling.

More than three hundred flights are operated daily from Tribhuvan International Airport. Among them, there are more than 250 domestic flights while around 100 flights towards the international sector are conducted daily. The airport is open from 6:00 am to 13:00 pm. In the domestic sector, 21 airlines companies including 12 helicopter companies are providing service. A total of 30 airlines companies including three Nepali companies are operating flights towards the international sector.
