Myagdi. Locals of Ramche of Annapurna Rural Municipality-8 have donated voluntary labour to repair the road. Locals of the Nagi-Ramche road were damaged by landslides at Chhahare section near Thawangaun along the Nagi-Ramche road in the third week of June. As many as 75 people contributed voluntary labour for the repair of the road on Thursday, said a resident of Ramche.

“The Nagi-Ramche road has been obstructed for the past two months and it has been difficult for the locals to transport potatoes and other agricultural products to the market”, he said.

According to Garbuja, a wall has been constructed from the foundation of the road which has been submerged in the landslide and it has been made possible for jeeps, tractors and motorbikes to cross. Locals of Ramche use the Nagi-Lekphant-Mallaj-Beni road to commute to and from the district headquarters Beni as the road linking Ramche from Annapurna Rural Municipality-7, Mahavir to Ramche via Histan-Kafaldanda is circuitous and risky.

The office of Annapurna Rural Municipality-8 is located in Ramche. Ramche is a pocket area of potatoes. The people of Nagi have been facing problems in commuting to the ward office and health post in Ramche due to the road obstruction. The obstruction of the road has also made it easier for the students of Ramche and Kafaldanda of Himmanchal Secondary School in Nagi.
