Genji agitation: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) urges private sector to ensure security

Let’s go to Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has said that the private sector is unsafe due to the Genji agitation. Expressing sorrow over the loss of property and property during the agitation and demonstrations across the country, the CNI urged the government to ensure security so that the private sector would not be attacked again.

The CNI has paid tribute to the youths who lost their lives during the agitation. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. The CNI has expressed the belief that the country would enter a new phase by giving high importance to the aspirations of the younger generation including good governance, anti-corruption and transparency in the public sector. We are confident that peace and order will be maintained in the country as per the aspiration of the general public to move ahead by overcoming the existing confusion. For this, the CNI is committed to provide necessary support, cooperation and coordination.

It has also drawn the attention of all sides concerned towards the incidents of arson, vandalism and looting of public and private properties during the agitation which has saddened the industrialists and entrepreneurs. According to the Confederation, the serious impact on the industrial and business sector as well as incidents of vandalism, arson and looting centered on individuals and businesses have not only terrified the investors but also affected the employment of many people. The Confederation has urged the government to ensure security by creating an environment conducive for the private sector to carry out industry and business as it would have a serious impact on domestic and foreign investment along with employment.

“Billions of investments will be required to reconstruct public and private sector infrastructures. State resources alone cannot reconstruct. The CNI has urged the government to ensure an environment conducive for carrying out industries and business without fear as the private sector is also the main source of income of the state. The Confederation said.

The economy faced a very challenging situation for about three years due to Covid-19 and the regulatory provisions that followed. The CNI has also urged all sides concerned to create appropriate environment in time as the cycle of economy could be affected and the overall economic development and revenue of the government could be affected if the industry and business could not be operated smoothly in the present situation.

It is also the duty of all to create an environment conducive for the economy of a country in crisis. The CNI has said that serious efforts should be made from today itself to materialize the aspirations of the new generation and take the country into a new phase. The National Council meeting of the Confederation held on Thursday evening had expressed the commitment of the private sector to make the aspirations of the younger generation successful.
