During the meeting, Governor Poudel inquired about the problems faced by the representatives of banks, financial institutions and industrialists and businessmen due to the Genji movement.

During the meeting, the protesters asked whose business was damaged? What kind of damage was done to the house? A representative of the industrialists present said that they have expressed concern about what kind of relief will be provided to the victims.

He also urged the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) to furnish details of the losses suffered by their members. Governor Poudel discussed how the NRB could provide immediate and long-term support to mitigate the damage caused by the agitation.

Governor Poudel has also said that some issues will be included in the review of monetary policy to address such problems. For the management of the first quarter of the current fiscal year, industrialists and businessmen have also expected the bank to provide loans at the base rate for some time.

Deepak Malhotra, senior vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, said that they felt that they have got guardians in the midst of such pain when Governor Poudel called them at a time when the wounds of the Zenji movement were still burning.

“We were called by the Nepal Rastra Bank for 2 o’clock. We were representatives of all the three organizations,” said Governor Poudel, who also burnt down 2 houses. Forgetting my pain, inquiring with concern about our problems with a sad face, listening to what initiative I can take to solve the problem, I really felt like a guardian. We are very happy. ’

Malhotra said that after Governor Poudel called him and listened to the problem, he felt that the morale of all the parents was boosted.
