Kathmandu. The Morang Chamber of Industries has demanded action against those involved in looting, arson and vandalism targeting government buildings and private residences during the Genji movement.

Strongly condemning this kind of destruction in the name of political movement, the party has demanded that the newly-formed government investigate the truth and take action.

Several private sector industries, businesses and private houses were targeted and looted, arson and vandalized during the agitation. “Although this is a very challenging and painful moment for the private sector, it is imperative to work in reconstruction and recovery by dealing with the situation.

“The private sector is the backbone of Nepal’s economic transformation. “It is our common duty to build an inclusive, just and sustainable economic system as per the aspirations of our youths by adopting the guidance of building a corruption-free New Nepal shown by the Jenji Movement in the journey of economic prosperity,” the statement reads. ’
