Chitwan. The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has started repairing a tourist road. Repair of roads, bridges and removal of bushes have been intensified in order to open jeep safari ahead of the Bijaya Dashami festival.
According to the information officer of the park, Abinash Thapa Magar, the repair work of the road is going on at present. “We are repairing 90 kilometers of the road for jeep safari,” he said. ’
He said that the work of clearing the bushes along the road area was also carried out. He said that the repair work of the road has been started to make jeep safari from Sauraha to Kujauli Ghat.
The park has closed the jeep safari since June 16 and is preparing to operate the jeep safari targeting the tourists coming during the festival. Although jeep safari inside the park has been closed, it has not been banned in the community forest. According to Magar, works are underway to repair bridges and remove obstacles along the 90-km road.
Tourists can observe wildlife from Dumariya, Lami Lake, Tamor Lake, Gharial Breeding Centre, Tiger Mechan, Sukhibhar, Bhimle, Tiger Tops, Bagmara, Khoriya Muhan and Devi Lake.
Safari is the main attraction of tourists coming to Chitwan and Nawalparasi. Domestic and foreign tourists come here to observe the rare one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tiger and other wildlife.
