Kathmandu. Although all the offices and agencies that were closed during the devastation caused by the Zenji movement have reopened, the stock market has remained closed.

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has already issued a notice on September 11 stating that the market will be closed from September 18 to October 18.

Although the stock market was closed due to agitation at that time, now the stock market can also be operated after all the resumption of operation, according to NEPSE officials.

NEPSE is currently waiting for the directive from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) to operate the market. NEPSE can open the market only on the instructions of the board. NEPSE officials say that there is no problem in opening the market if the board directs.

The infrastructure required to open the market includes data center, mobile banking, broker, CDSC, broker company, internet. All of this is fine now.

“The market was closed for a week on July 27 due to adverse conditions,” said Murhari Parajuli, spokesperson of NEPSE. So far, everything is fine. ’

Parajuli said that no broker company has been informed of any problem so far. On the other hand, Sagar Dhakal, president of the Stock Brokers Association, said that there is no problem at the broker’s head office.

However, the branch of broker number 48 in Pokhara was vandalized. Chairman Dhakal said that the market should also be opened gradually as all the offices in the area have started opening their offices in the old condition. “The market should be opened now,” he said, adding, “The closure of the market will not have a good impact on the investors and the confidence of the investors may decrease.” ’

Although one branch of the broker has been damaged due to the Genji movement, it is said that there will be no problem as it is trading online. Officials of the Securities Board of Nepal did not want to be contacted for comment on whether to open or close the market.
