Kanchanpur. Fair price shops are to come into operation in the Far-West region from Monday. The Food Management and Trading Company Limited and Salt Trading Corporation Limited will operate fair price shops in different districts of the Far-West region from Monday targeting the festivals.
The Food Management and Trading Company Limited has decided to operate fair price shops in 28 places of the Far-West region targeting the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals while the Salt Trading Company will operate fair price shops in eight places of the Far-West. According to Deepak Thapa, provincial chief of the Food Management and Trade Company Limited’s Sudurpaschim Province Office, fair price shops will be operated from 28 different places of the Far-West from Monday.
“We will provide two types of rice and sugar at five discount per kg from the fair price shop,” he said. ’
The food management and trade company will operate fair price shops in Dhangadhi of Kailali, Khalanga Bazaar of Dadeldhura, Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur, Khalanga Bazaar of Doti and Mauwanagar of Sudurpaschim Province.
Similarly, Bajura’s branch office will be Martadi, Depot Office Kolti, Dhulachaur outlet, Bichhaya outlet and Pandusain outlet. The operation will be from Gothalapani and Parchaudihat outlets, Roleshwor, Amchaura and Dogadakedar outlets in Baitadi.
The fair price shops will be operated from Darchula’s branch office, Sunkesara outlet, Hikila and Khandeshwori shopping outlets. The branch offices in Achham will be operated from Mangalsen, Saina Bazaar, Safebagar and Kamal Bazaar.
Salt Trading Corporation Limited’s far-western office chief Tej Bahadur Kunwar said the fair price shops would be operated from eight places in the far-west region. He said that the fair price shops operated by Salt Trading will provide discount of Rs 2 per kg on salt, five rupees per kg on sugar, and seven rupees per kg on oil, beaten rice, flour and lentils. The fair price shops will be operated from Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, Tikapur and Attariya of Kailali, Belauri and Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur, Dipayal of Doti and Patan of Baitadi.
