Kathmandu. The interest rate of commercial banks continues to fall. The interest rate that came into effect from September 1 has also decreased on average compared to August.

According to the new interest rate published by banks, the average deposit rate of banks has decreased by 0.11 percentage points in September.

In August, the average interest rate of commercial banks was 5.57 percent. The interest rate effective from September 17 has been reduced by 0.11 percentage points to 5.46 percent.

During this period, the interest rate of 9 banks has decreased while the interest rate of 9 banks has remained unchanged. However, 2 banks have increased the interest rate in September compared to August. Standard Chartered Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank have increased the interest rates.
