Rupandehi. Rupandehi: The Inland Revenue Office in Rupandehi has started providing service from its parking lot. The office was damaged in the vandalism and arson on September 24.

Chief Tax Officer Prem Raj Pokhrel said that the service provided by the office has been started from Sunday by setting up a tent in the parking lot of the office. “We have started essential services, we have been providing many services online, we have started to provide services to our taxpayers by placing laptops and printers in the parking lot,” he said. ’

He said that the service is being provided with minimum resources and available employees by managing internet and electricity. He said that only some essential services were provided as it was not possible to operate all services.

According to him, the main building of the office has been damaged due to arson and vandalism. Seven rooms were completely gutted, he said. Electronic goods, computers, laptops, printers, tables, chairs, racks, sofas, drawers and other items inside the room were also burnt, said Chief Tax Officer Pokharel. “Some taxpayers’ files are also included in it,” he said. Some vehicles and guard rooms in the office were also burnt, he said.

Service recipient Saroj Sah expressed happiness that the Inland Revenue Office was providing service even when the building was damaged. He said that the service recipients are satisfied with the service provided by the office.

The prohibitory order and curfew that had been imposed in Rupandehi since September 23 has also been lifted. Chief District Officer of Rupandehi, Dr Tokraj Pandey, informed that the prohibitory order and curfew have been imposed since September 12. According to him, the overall peace and security situation in the district is normal and normal life is also heading towards normalcy.

The District Administration Office has requested all sides concerned for necessary coordination and facilitation to maintain mutual goodwill, deliver public services, operate educational institutions, resume movement, regulate previous activities and make the market system dynamic.
