Mustang. More than 100 electric vehicles have been imported from Korala border point in Lomanthang. The vehicles imported from China following the process of the Department of Customs are kept at the Customs Office in Nhechung.
According to the Mustang Customs Office, vehicles of more than 500 BYD companies will be imported from Korala checkpoint. More than 100 electric vehicles have entered Nepal through the checkpoint, said Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal.
Earlier, preparations were underway to import electric vehicles through Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani border points. However, the Korlana has been used as an alternative as the border points there were blocked due to floods and landslides. “According to the customs office, more than 500 EVs will be brought from Korala checkpoint,” he said. ’
Ramesh Khadka, chief of Mustang Customs Office, said that charging stations are major problems for electric vehicles imported from China.
Preparations have been made to import clothes, electronic and cosmetic goods targeting the festival along with vehicles. Some medium-sized containers that entered Nepal after passing the Chinese customs clearance have arrived in Nhechung. According to Khadka, 70-80 medium containers have arrived at Koralana via Beni-Jomsom-Korala road.
