Fair price rice shops open in Khotang

Khotang. Khotang: The Food Management and Trade Company Limited branch office has opened fair price shops in three places of the district. The company has established fair price rice shops in Aiselukharka Rural Municipality and Khotehang Rural Municipality, including Diktel Bazaar.

Sujan Babu Acharya, chief of the Limited’s branch office, said that the fair price shops opened in the district will be operational till September 26.TAG_OPEN_div_19 According to him, the sale of rice has started at a cheaper price from the office of Trade Company Limited at Diktel Bazaar, the main trading hub of the district, the depot office at Aiselukharka and the depot office at Khotehang rural municipality.

Earlier, the price of rice was Rs 65 per kg but it has now started selling at Rs 60 per kg at the Depot Office, Aiselukharka and Khotangbazaar.TAG_OPEN_div_17 Similarly, Steam Jeera Masino rice which was being sold at Rs 90 per kg has now started selling at Rs 85 per kg.

Acharya said that the fair price shops have been brought into operation to stabilize the market price of food items by providing rice to the consumers at a cheaper price during the festival time.TAG_OPEN_div_13 It has been easier for the locals living in the rural areas after the company opened fair price shops targeting the festivals.

Five TAG_OPEN_div_11 hundred quintals of rice is available for now. Acharya said that the district has ten local levels and three thousand quintals of rice will be available for the whole year.
