Kathmandu. As of mid-September of the current fiscal year 2082/83, the government’s budget expenditure has increased to 9.17 percent.
According to the Office of Financial Comptroller General, 9.67 per cent of the budget was spent in recurrent expenditure, 1.56 per cent towards capital expenditure and 15.89 per cent towards financial management in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
A total of Rs 1964.11 billion has been allocated for this fiscal year and Rs 180.17 billion has been spent till mid-September. Out of the allocated Rs 1180.98 billion for recurrent expenditure, Rs 114.18 billion has been spent so far.
Likewise, Rs 6.35 billion has been spent on capital head out of Rs 407.88 billion. Out of the annual allocation of Rs 375.24 billion, Rs 59.62 billion has been spent till mid-September.
The government collected 10.43 per cent of the annual target of revenue during the period. The government has so far collected Rs 159.98 billion against the target of collecting revenue of Rs 153.44 billion for the current fiscal year.
Of the annual target of collecting Rs 1325.58 billion in tax revenue, 11.35 per cent or Rs 150.40 billion has been collected. Similarly, the collection of Rs 7.13 billion or 4.62 per cent of the target of non-tax collection was Rs 7.13 billion against the target of Rs 154.41 billion.
Similarly, the government has collected Rs 1.27 billion or 2.38 per cent of the government’s target of receiving foreign aid equivalent to Rs 53.44 billion for the current fiscal year.
