Mustang. Mustang Customs Office Nhechung collected Rs 970,64,000 in revenue in the last three days. The revenue was collected from the import of goods through Nepal-China North Korala transit point.

Korlana was fully operational 11 days ago. However, due to the internal preparation and management of the office, the work execution started from Monday. A total of 85 cargo containers including 161 electric cars have been stranded at Nhechung Customs Office after passing the customs clearance on the Chinese side, Chief of Mustang Customs Office Ramesh Khadka said.

He said that 45 containers out of 85 containers that were held up for clearance at Mustang Customs have passed the customs clearance so far. The mentioned customs revenue has been collected from 45 containers that have already passed the inspection from here.

Khadka, chief of the customs office, said that two vehicles have passed the customs clearance for the export of Nepali goods to China from Mustang Customs. The goods exported to China are handicraft items.

Khadka said that out of the loaded containers of goods imported from China, 45 containers have already left for their destinations and 40 containers are yet to be cleared. Similarly, 160 electric vehicles imported from China are yet to be cleared by the customs.

Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal said none of the electric vehicles imported from China have been tested yet.

According to him, the customs clearance was delayed due to limited staff at the customs office. Provisions have been made for banks and financial institutions to pass the Mustang Customs for goods imported from China and open a letter of credit (SC) for imported goods.
