Baglung. Fair price shops have come into operation in Baglung targeting the festivals. The Salt Trading Corporation (STC), Baglung has brought into operation the fair price shop from Wednesday.
Manoj Kumar Shrestha, chief of the Salt Trading Office, said that the fair price shop has been brought into operation at Upallachaur of Baglung municipality-4 to provide subsidies to the people during the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. According to him, the office has been operating fair price shop every year.
Shrestha said that customers can buy salt, sugar and oil from the shop at a reasonable price. The shop sells sugar at Rs 95 per kg, salt at Rs 24 per kg and pure mustard oil at Rs 355 per litre, Shrestha said. A maximum of six kilograms of sugar, five kilograms of salt and five liters of oil can be purchased per person.
Chief Shrestha said, “We have been running fair price shops every year during the main festivals, this time there is a discount of Rs 10 per kg on sugar, Rs 2 on salt and Rs 70 per liter on pure mustard oil. ’
