The fire that broke out at the 11 KVA substation at Parwanipur has destroyed the power supply chain. Power supply from Birgunj, Simara, Krishi, Gandak, Dabur, Narayani, Himal, Parwanipur, Jagadamba, Birgunj, Nitanpur, Chorni and Bhaluhi feeders was affected when the fire broke out due to short circuit in the panel.

The fire was brought under control with the help of a fire engine, local police and the general public, said Avadesh Kumar Dubey, chief of distribution centre of Nepal Electricity Authority. According to him, there are immediate technical problems to resume the power supply.

“We worked all night on Wednesday and brought the electricity back today. The power supply was disrupted after 9:30 am in the morning,” he said, adding that the bush of the breaker at the substation of Birgunj and Piluwa of Bara has exploded. ’

According to Dubey, chief of Birgunj Distribution Center, the substation of Parwanipur has not been able to supply electricity from Birgunj. “Now there is compulsion to supply electricity to Parwanipur from Birgunj substation,” he said. ’

Mayor Dubey said that all the industries operating from 11 KVA have not been able to supply electricity. “It’s going to take at least 15 days to fix the current problem. Work is being done from our side. According to him, the power supply has started after repairing the breaker bush of the substation at Piluwa.
