Nawalparasi. Landslides have completely disrupted Butwal-Narayangadh road section along the East-West Highway. The vehicular movement has been obstructed due to landslides at Daunne area of Binayi Triveni rural municipality-2 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

Chief of District Traffic Police Office, Janak Raj Banjara, said that the road section has been completely disrupted due to the landslide from above at Pinsathtimod of Daunne following the incessant rain. He said the one-way traffic along the Daunne road has been completely obstructed since this afternoon due to incessant rain.

“It was not possible for vehicles to slip and ply even in light rain, it is difficult for trucks to get stuck on the muddy road,” he said.

According to the Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project, efforts are on to resume the road after carrying out repairs as vehicular movement has been affected due to obstruction of the road along the Daunne section.
