Birgunj. Goods worth Rs 146.64 billion have entered Nepal via Birgunj border point in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
In the current fiscal year, goods have entered the country by 20 percent more than in the last two months of the previous fiscal year. In the first two months of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 122.32 billion were imported.
Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, said that both imports and exports have increased in the current fiscal year compared to the last two months.
“In the current fiscal year, 24.32 billion more goods have entered Nepal compared to the two months of the last fiscal year,” he said. According to the Birgunj Customs Office, there has been a significant improvement in exports through the border point in the first two months of the current fiscal year as compared to the last fiscal year.
In the first two months of the last fiscal year, Nepal had exported goods worth Rs 6.05 billion. However, goods worth Rs 17.03 billion were exported through this border point in the first two months of the current fiscal year. In the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 10.98 billion were exported compared to the last two months.
