Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Kul Man Ghising has inspected the Mid Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project. On the occasion, Minister Pun inspected the 102-MW Middle Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project in Sindhupalchowk.
The project has come into operation today on the second day of test generation required for 72-hour test for commercial generation. Under the leadership of Minister Ghising who was the managing director of Chilime Hydropower Company, the project had reached the construction phase after completing detailed study, power purchase agreement, financial management and contract agreement.

A total of 102 MW of electricity is being generated from the project and it is being evacuated to the national grid. However, the construction of the project was delayed due to Jure landslide, earthquake, flooding in Bhotekoshi river, COVID-19 pandemic and local obstructions.
