Kathmandu. In the first two months of the current fiscal year, the company has collected Rs 2.75 billion in capital gains. According to CDS and Clearing, the amount was collected from the stock market in the month of July and August of the current fiscal year.
According to the CDSC, the capital gains tax was collected from the share market of Rs 2.15 billion in the month of July. In the month of August, Rs 60,14,99,464 was collected as capital gains tax.
The government paid Rs 650,259,869 for individual investors, Rs 1,214,42,596 for short-term investors and Rs 293,166,594 for institutional investors.
In August, the long-term investors paid Rs 20,81,65,978, short-term investors Rs 32,88,38,910 and institutional investors Rs 6,44,94,576.
As per the provision, an individual investor will be liable to pay 7.5 percent capital gains tax if he sells shares for less than a year and 5 percent if he sells them for more than a year.
